V-AXIS CROWNING
The extreme pressure during a long and heavy bend can 
cause a press to flex across the work area.
First-Part Accuracy: 
By compensating for the “bow” in the machine frame, you 
get 90° angles across the entire length of the workpiece.
HIGH-SPEED BACKGAUGE
The backgauge automatically positions the workpiece 
relative to the tooling, ensuring high dimensional accuracy. 
High-Speed Movement
High-torque motors achieve speeds up to 400 mm/s,  
reducing cycle times between bends.
PRESS BRAKE AXES
In the fabrication industry, press brake notation 4+1 or 6+1  
describes the specific degrees of freedom for the ram  
and the backgauge system.

Y1 & Y2-Axis (The Ram)
These axes control the vertical stroke and can be offset to 
allow for intentional tilting, if needed.

X-Axis (Depth)
This controls your flange length by moving the backgauge 
forward or backward.

Moves the backgauge fingers up and down to 
accommodate different flange heights

Z1 & Z2-Axis (Lateral)
Available on the HPB-170-10, the fingers slide left and 
right independently for complex, multi-stage setups 
across the bed.

V-Axis (Crowning)
The V-axis is the “+1” — it uses a wedge system to “crown” 
the bed upward, neutralizing flex to ensure the angle is 
even across the bend.
