SIMPLICITY BY DESIGN How Haas builds machines The assembly procedures at the Haas factory follow a very strict protocol, with quality checks made continuously throughout the process. Work instructions and specifications are all communicated to the production floor electronically via tablets. This also serves to create a live electronic record. Each machine, of course, has a serial number, and as the machine is built, the hundreds of hand measurements that are taken are entered into this record, allowing us to generate a detailed report for every machine coming off our assembly lines. Indicator readings are taken, adjustments are made, and tests are performed, and the results are entered into the tablet as a permanent record of critical data.
